The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (McGeorge), an ABA-accredited law school in Sacramento, California, seeks a public policy/administration professional to teach a Career Support course on a part-time basis. The course teaches the skills and qualities that are essential to a successful career in the public sector. Topics covered include professional identity, professionalism, teamwork, resilience, integrity, self-awareness, interpersonal communication, and best practices for finding a fulfilling career. The course also familiarizes students with the wide spectrum of careers in which a public policy/administration degree is required or desirable, and challenges them to think deeply about career paths that will be truly satisfying. The course also requires students to understand the "best practices" in job search activities, including resume writing, cover letter writing, working with mentors, goal setting, and networking. The course will be taught on a one-on-one basis and/or via a series of workshops.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work entails travel in Sacramento, primarily at the Sacramento Campus. Work may require evenings and/or weekends to perform duties, based on class schedule.
