Overview

The University of Illinois College of Law in Urbana Champaign invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach within the Anderson Center for Advocacy and Professionalism. Positions include an instructor of the foundational trial advocacy workshop and adjunct professors who will coach competitive trial, moot court, and alternative dispute resolution teams.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the foundational trial advocacy course and lead the trial advocacy workshop, with classes meeting in the Law Building in Champaign between mid‑August and early December.
  • Hold weekly in‑person trial advocacy workshops at the College of Law.
  • Coach students for trial court, moot court, and ADR competitions.
  • Arrange practice sessions (in‑person, virtual, or hybrid) based on team and coach availability.
  • Travel with teams to competitions; travel will be funded by the College of Law.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: J.D. or equivalent, and at least three years of teaching or practice experience in the subject area taught.
  • Preferred: Prior trial or appellate experience, participation in law school competitive advocacy programs, and current law license.
Appointment Information

These are five‑to‑ten percent Academic positions appointed for the Fall 2026 semester. The anticipated start date is August 2026. Salary ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on credit hours. Positions are eligible for work authorization sponsorships.
