The Lyle School of Engineering at Southern Methodist University (SMU) is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach ECE 7316 - Data Pipelines, Cloud Platforms & Integration in Spring 2027.
This graduate-level course covers modern data engineering topics including ETL/ELT pipelines, Apache Airflow, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data warehouses and lakehouses, CI/CD, data quality and observability, security, and scalable cloud deployment.
Candidates should have a graduate degree in a relevant technical field and strong professional or academic experience in data engineering, cloud computing, or large-scale data systems. Proficiency in Python and SQL is expected. Industry experience with modern cloud data platforms and production data pipelines is highly desirable.
