Adjunct/Per Course Faculty, HIT/Medical Coding (Summer/Fall 2026)

Missouri State University-West Plains accepts applications for Adjunct Faculty to establish a pool of available candidates. Position Information

Position Title: Adjunct/Per Course Faculty, HIT/Medical Coding (Summer/Fall 2026)

Work Location: West Plains Campus

Department: West Plains Nursing & Allied Health

Term: Summer/Fall Semester (per course faculty only)

Begin Dates: Summer Term 06/01/2026, Fall Term 08/17/2026

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned course(s) in HIT/Medical Coding.
  • Grading students’ work in a timely manner.
  • Be available to assist students with course‑related matters.
  • Submit attendance and midterm/final grades by required deadlines.
  • Complete course assessments on time.
  • Participate in required training.
  • Teach classes that may be scheduled during the day or evening hours in seated, online, blended, or interactive video formats.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or the equivalent professional experience in a field determined acceptable by the Dean.
  • Bachelor’s degree may be acceptable in certain subject areas as determined by the Dean.
  • Current medical coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC (CCS, CCS‑P, or CPC) that is active.
