Job summary

Newman University in Wichita, KS invites qualified adjuncts to teach courses and supervise nursing students in the clinical setting for the 2027 academic year. A BSN is required with MSN preferred; licensure in Kansas is mandatory.

Adjuncts will contribute to Mental Health and Med/Surg I courses with didactic and clinical components, support student learning, and use Canvas LMS for course delivery. Background checks and drug screening are required, and applicants must be legally eligible to work

Qualifications

• MSN preferred; BSN required as stated.
• Experience in clinical education is preferred.
• Must hold a Kansas nursing license and be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Experience with adult medical-surgical nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach nursing courses appropriate to qualifications and supervise students in clinical settings.
• Deliver didactic and clinical experiences in Mental Health and Med/Surg I as listed.
• Provide timely feedback on student performance and manage clinical assessments.
• Develop and maintain clinical education content and use Canvas for course delivery.
• Collaborate with Nursing Program leadership and participate in training as required.

Newman University, a mission-driven, catholic, liberal arts university, is recruiting adjuncts to teach courses and/or supervise students within the clinical setting for our Nursing program and during the 2027 academic year. Minimum qualifications include at least a BSN degree.

Courses Needed include:

• Mental Health- Didactic and Clinical
• Med/Surg I- Didactic and Clinical

Requirements

1. Teach courses appropriate to academic qualifications.


2. Maintain high standards as teachers and engaging students in laboratory and/or clinical educational settings.


3. Inform students of their progress by promptly returning graded assignments, quizzes, and examinations with appropriate feedback.


4. Utilize the Learning Management Systems, i.e. Canvas, and other technology as appropriate.


5. Develop and maintain clinical education content for assigned course(s).


6. Supervise clinical activities effectively and assess educational outcomes appropriately.


7. Consult with the Dean or Nursing Program Director regarding concerns.


8. Complete university-required training courses and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Master in nursing preferred, bachelor in nursing required.


2. Experience in clinical education preferred.


3. Experience in adult medical surgical nursing required.


4. Must hold a current Kansas professional nursing license.


5. Must pass background check and drug screening.


6. Legally authorized to work in the United States.
