Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Journalism/Mass Communications or related field with 18 graduate-level course hours in journalism/mass communications.
• Professional experience with news writing, social media, and mass communication styles.
• Experience using instructional technologies to teach traditional, hybrid or distance learning classes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to respond to the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

• Teaches a wide range of courses in Media and Journalism Studies.
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
• Prepares syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
• Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Maintains attendance records, grades and required documentation by deadlines.
• Be available to students for coaching and participate in periodic meetings with supervisors.
