Qualifications

• Advanced doctoral candidate or earned PhD in African Studies or related field with Africa focus.
• Record of scholarly work in African Studies.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness or demonstrated ability to teach African Studies courses.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Three letters of recommendation speaking to teaching experience and scholarly work.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in African Studies as needed by the department.
• Align course assignments with departmental needs and candidate areas of expertise.
• Mentor underrepresented students and contribute to an inclusive teaching environment.
