Position Overview

Saint Louis University's School of Science and Engineering invites an adjunct faculty member to teach an undergraduate course in Thermodynamics in Fall-2025. The role requires a dynamic, collegial, collaborative, and creative faculty member who can deliver engaging, hands‑on learning experiences to engineering students in a team‑oriented, student‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

Teach an undergraduate course in Thermodynamics covering properties, characteristics, and fundamental equations of gases, and the application of the first and second laws of thermodynamics in evaluating engines, cycles, and processes.

Prepare and deliver course materials, assessments, and laboratory activities.

Engage with students, provide timely feedback, and contribute to course assessment and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related field).
  • Technical proficiency and practical experience in Thermodynamics.
  • Evidence of teaching or teaching‑related experience (preferred).
Course Topics
  • Properties, characteristics and fundamental equations of gases
  • Application of first and second laws of thermodynamics to engines, cycles and processes
