Job summary

Loyola Marymount University invites applications for potential Part-Time faculty in the M.S. Systems Engineering program within the Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering.

These are typically one-semester appointments to teach 1-2 courses, with a minimum salary per unit taught. Responsibilities include preparing syllabi, delivering lectures, holding office hours, grading assignments and exams, maintaining records, and staying compliant with university policies.

Qualifications

• Must have sufficient industry experience in Systems Engineering.
• Prior teaching experience is preferable.
• Ability to use browser-based software and standard classroom equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds in education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute a course syllabus.
• Prepare and lead class sessions.
• Hold regular office hours and answer student questions.
• Develop, distribute, and/or grade discussion materials, homework, quizzes, and other course materials.
• Write, proctor, and grade midterm and final examinations.
• Maintain and timely submit class records, such as attendance and grade reports.
• Attend meetings and training, as needed.
• Comply with all university standards and requirements.
