Job summary

Independence Community College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to organize and teach online classes. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction, managing the teaching environment, and providing feedback to students.

A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline is required, along with preferred experience in higher education teaching. Knowledge of the Canvas learning management platform is a plus. The position is compensated at a rate of $675 per credit hour taught.

Essential Job Duties

• Organize and teach online classes as assigned.
• Deliver quality instruction that prepares students for further education and/or the workplace.
• Manage the teaching environment to serve all learners.
• Provide regular and timely evaluation feedback to students.
• Maintain student attendance records.
• Submit mid‑term and final grades.
• Participate in institutional effectiveness initiatives including assessment and evaluation.
• Demonstrate professionalism with faculty, administration, staff and students.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Master’s degree in the chosen discipline, or a master’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate credits in the concentration.

Preferred

• Higher education teaching experience.
• Experience with the Canvas learning management platform.

Salary / Wage

$675 per credit hour taught
