About UC Blue Ash

The Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Physics Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

Job Overview

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching of physics lecture and/or lab. Adjunct faculty must be able to teach introductory physics, algebra and calculus-based first year physics courses and labs. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook‑specific systems; and (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students

Courses offered may include day, evening, or online. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Essential Functions

• On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses and /or undergraduate labs
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University‑related communications.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

• A Master’s Degree (or higher) in: Physics, Physics Education, or related field -OR- At least 18 credit hours of graduate level coursework in Physics or Physics Education.

Required Experience

• Previous lecture and lab teaching experience is required.

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Knowledge of issues in physics education and knowledge of technology relevant to physics and classroom pedagogy.
• Experience teaching in a college setting.
