Job summary

The College of Southern Maryland invites applications for adjunct Photography faculty at the La Plata Campus. This part-time teaching position supports the Visual and Performing Arts department and offers opportunities to engage students with hands-on photography instruction.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s degree in the discipline (or equivalent) and experience teaching, with a passion for student learning and the use of new technologies to enhance classroom instruction.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the discipline OR Master’s in any field with 15 hours in the discipline.
• Sufficient experience in lieu of degree or hours, as approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• Subject matter/content expertise in your field.

Responsibilities

• Teach Principles of Lighting for Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters.
• Engage students with a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.
• Support the department across Visual Arts, Music, Theater and Dance, Digital Media Production.

This is an applicant pool for part-time Photography faculty in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Adjunct faculty are hired on an as needed basis.

The areas taught by this department include

Visual Arts, Music, Theater and Dance, Digital Media Production.

CSM is accepting applications for the following adjunct positions at the La Plata Campus location:

Principles of Lighting. Fall, Spring, or Summer Semesters; Afternoon or Evening availability desired, but all applicants are welcome.

CSM is looking for dynamic individuals who can implement the comprehensive mission of a community college by assessing, documenting, and improving student learning through instruction.

• Master’s degree in the discipline of instruction OR Master’s in any field AND 15 hours in the discipline OR Sufficient experience in lieu of either requirement, as approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• This person should possess enthusiasm and passion for student learning and be able to respond to the needs of students using a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.
