The Newark College of Engineering, Office of the Dean seeks applications for an adjunct instructor to teach Prototyping Essentials (ENGR 320) course. ENGR 320 covers a variety of design and prototyping skills and concepts and requires students to demonstrate skills with weekly fabrication projects completed in the NJIT Makerspace. The successful candidate should be familiar with modern prototyping machinery and processes including CO2 laser cutting, fiber laser cutting, standard and CNC woodworking equipment, water jets, thermoforming, 3D printing, Fusion 360 2D and 3D CAD, Fusion 360 CAM, Arduino Programming, basic electronics, measurement tools, and other equipment. Training and qualifications on the operation of specific equipment can be provided by the NJIT Makerspace staff prior to the semester.

In compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the rate for this position is $2668 per contact hour (USD). NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
