Job Summary
Adjunct instructors to teach online courses within the Computer Information Technology (CIT) program.
Courses may include:
- CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
- CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
- CIT 144 – Python Programming I
These courses will be delivered in an online format utilizing the Blackboard Learning Management System.
Job Duties
Position Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction in assigned Computer Information Technology courses.
- Develop and maintain course content, assignments, assessments, and related instructional materials.
- Deliver instruction and facilitate student engagement through the Blackboard Learning Management System.
- Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports in accordance with college procedures.
- Provide timely feedback to students and support their academic success.
- Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and program administrators.
- Adhere to all KCTCS and SKCTC policies and procedures.
For CIT 170 – Database Fundamentals
- Extensive experience with database technologies such as:
- Microsoft Access
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Other comparable database platforms and technologies
For CIT 180 – Security Fundamentals
- Background in computer security or cybersecurity.
- CompTIA Security+ certification strongly preferred.
- Experience with information security concepts, best practices, and security principles.
For CIT 144 – Python Programming I
- Extensive programming experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming fundamentals.
- Experience teaching or mentoring programming students preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the subject area(s) being taught.
- Ability to effectively deliver instruction in an online learning environment.
Additional Skills Requested
- Experience teaching in higher education, workforce training, or adult education.
- Working knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System.
- Experience developing and delivering online coursework.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and online student engagement strategies.
