  • Clarify learning goals and assessment criteria, deliver classes in a structured manner, provide time for reflection and discussion, and make the learning experience engaging.
  • Foster adaptive thinking and problem solving by illustrating concepts, encouraging inquiry, adjusting instruction when learners struggle, helping students grasp terminology and processes, and guiding independent or collaborative problem solving.
  • Support lifelong learning through constructive feedback on assessments and offer targeted extra help or extended learning opportunities.
  • Create a positive, productive, and respectful classroom climate that supports learning.
  • Begin and end classes on time and adhere to the scheduled session times.
  • Uphold university policies and report any violations or inappropriate conduct that cannot be resolved through standard faculty intervention.
  • Provide the course syllabus to all enrolled students at the first class meeting.
  • Adhere to the established course schedule and issue written notices for substantial changes when necessary.
  • Require use of the prescribed texts to a degree that justifies purchase.
  • Ensure timely and reasonable assistance with course assignments and assessments as requested.
  • Administer a final exam or other evaluative activity during the scheduled final exam time for each course.
  • Determine final grades in accordance with the method outlined in the syllabus.
  • Offer mentorship through activities such as research involvement, curricular enhancements, tutoring, resume-building, volunteer opportunities, leadership development, and connections to university resources, while promoting responsible citizenship and healthy lifestyles.
  • Model professionalism in all interactions and duties.
  • Complete any other requirements as requested by the dean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including designing, developing, and teaching designated undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars.
