Job summary

UBTech in Vernal, UT is seeking a part-time non-benefited Journeyman Lineman instructor to prepare and deliver competency-based curriculum for a high-voltage lineworker program. Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  7. Physical ability to perform the essential functions of a line worker including: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping
  8. Climb and work on power poles for extended periods of time to install, replace, and repair equipment, using required safety equipment, such as full-body harnesses.
  9. Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
  10. Operate mobile equipment.
  11. Hoist work-related equipment, material, and tools.
  12. Perform installation of all high voltage components
  13. Communicate with fellow employees in order to maintain satisfactory work conditions.
  14. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  15. Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
  16. Perform any other duty or assignments as directed.

  9. Assist with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
  10. Create, support, and maintain an active Occupational Advisory Committee and industry partnerships
  11. Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  12. Foster a productive learning and training environment
  13. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits
  14. Request and maintain supplies and equipment inventories
  15. Propose required budget and purchase requests; follow purchasing guidelines
  16. Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
  17. Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma/GED or higher level.
  2. Certified Journeyman Lineman
  3. Four (4) years' experience as a Journeyman line worker
  4. Two (2) years' experience in power line construction
  5. Must have pole climbing experience
  6. Must successfully pass criminal background check
  7. Must possess a valid driver’s license

This position is on-call/as-needed, part-time/non-benefited.
