Job summary

Joliet Junior College seeks a Part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach Physical Geography (Weather and Climate, Landforms) courses. The instructor reports to the Department Chair, may teach at other campus sites, and collaborates with full-time faculty to assess students and follow course guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Geography or closely related field with at least 18 graduate level credit hours in Physical Geography, Meteorology.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
• Expertise in technologies for instruction.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships within the college.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes in the appropriate instructional area.
• Participate in annual student and chair/coordinator evaluations.
• Comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, attendance policies, textbook choices, and assessments.
• Attend classes regularly; return college reports and credentials; communicate with staff and chair.
• Comply with FERPA, ADA, and other regulatory obligations; report discrepancies.
• Commit to the college mission and core values in all activities.
• Meet other contractual obligations as spelled out in the adjunct faculty contract.
