Big Sandy Community and Technical College seeks an Adjunct Geography Instructor to teach at the Prestonsburg Campus. The position is part-time and lectures may occur day, evening, weekend, or online. Compensation is $515.00 per college credit hour.

The instructor will teach GEO 152 Regional Geography of the World and support student learning with prepared materials, instructional activities, and progress tracking. Prior online teaching is a plus.

• Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Geography or related field.

Job Summary

Big Sandy Community and Technical College invites qualified candidates to apply for the part-time position of Adjunct Geography Instructor.

Part-time faculty may be needed to teach for selected day, evening, weekend, and on-line classes at any of our campus locations.

Part-time instructors are paid $515.00 per college credit hour.

Instructor hired will be asked to teach one or more of the following classes:

GEO 152 Regional Geography of the World.

Job Duties

• Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials.
• Provides instruction to students in the subject area.
• Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on student attainment, attendance/activity and progress.
• Utilizes approved online course template and syllabus format.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in field.
• Credential must be granted from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
• A passion for teaching undergraduate students and an ability to work with a team effectively is essential to success in this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with online teaching is preferred.
• Teaching and Blackboard experience preferred.
