Job summary

Kean University in Union, New Jersey invites applicants for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in-person at the Union campus. Adjunct Faculty – Integrative Science and Technology

Kean University seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in‑person at the Union campus. Courses include Research Methods, Computational Science, Statistics, Scientific Writing, Translational Science & Medicine, Biostatistics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Innovation, Molecular Biology, and Computational Science.

Responsibilities

• Teach one, three, or four credit classes.
• Provide at least one hour of availability outside the classroom per week for a 3 or 4 credit class; provide at least 30 minutes for each additional class taught during the semester.
• Maintain an additional 30 minutes of availability weekly for classes fewer than three credits.
• Offer additional office hours at discretion.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Teaching experience; ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. or other acceptable doctorates are encouraged.
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay rate: $2,100 per credit effective September 2025; $2,225 per credit effective September 2026; additional $75 per credit after the 13th semester.
• Enrollment in state‑administered retirement plan and optional Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.

Employment Conditions

Adjunct appointments are non‑tenure track and may be at any New Jersey campus location, including Union, Ocean, Skylands, Jersey City, Brookdale, Manahawkin, Princeton, and Trenton. Faculty may also be assigned to teach online classes for Kean Global.
