Job Description

The School of Pharmacy - Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high-quality learning experiences and education for students in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program (PEP). Specifically, we are looking for candidates to teach online, asynchronously, a comprehensive introduction to the R programming language, focusing on data manipulation, visualization, and basic statistical analysis for graduate students in the master's in PEP program. This course is intermediate level, designed to help students gain practical skills to manage, analyze, and visualize data, preparing them for research projects, professional data analysis, and academic publications. Additional course details can be provided during the interview process.

Responsibilities
  1. Deliver didactic instruction in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program on the Boston campus.
  2. Provide students with an approved syllabus including course objectives, learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies, texts, assignments, timelines, and evaluation criteria.
  3. Create engaging assignments demonstrating real-world applications of concepts.
  4. Utilize the University's learning management system to post course materials and communicate with students.
  5. Advising and assisting students through office hours or scheduled appointments via videoconference, phone, email, or other approved mechanisms.
  6. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements

Required:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, JD, MPH, or equivalent) with coursework related to Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy and at least five years of relevant experience.
  • At least one year of teaching experience or formal training in instructional methodology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn and use Blackboard LMS.
  • Commitment to graduate education and student success.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and healthcare professionals.
