Job Type: Contract

Description: Lourdes University invites applicants for adjunct faculty in the Department of Mathematics. In particular, we seek an engaging instructor to teach courses in Mathematics education for students majoring in Education.

Essential Functions:

· Deliver in-person instruction that ensures the curriculum design is consistent with best practices and addresses the needs of various programs.

· Present a dynamic classroom presence.

· Evaluate student work & provide feedback in a timely manner.

· Reply to student emails in a timely manner.

· Respond to institutional requests in a timely manner.

Assist with assessment as needed by the department

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to work with traditional students as well as adult learners.

· Evidence of excellence in teaching and/or demonstrated experience in Mathematics in a professional role

· Commitment to working with a diverse student, faculty, and staff population.

· Ability to use educational technology and software.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics; or a master’s degree or higher in a related field with 18 hours of graduate coursework in Mathematics; or ABD in Mathematics with active progress toward degree completion and at least 36 credit hours of graduate course work in Mathematics.

· Evidence of effective teaching at the college level preferred but not required.
