Job summary

Clovis Community College is seeking an adjunct instructor to deliver paralegal-focused coursework on site. The role requires coordinating with department faculty to ensure coverage of key concepts and course outcomes.

The instructor will prepare comprehensive syllabi, conduct lectures, and promote critical thinking while providing timely feedback and maintaining student records in line with college policies. Familiarity with Canvas, Starfish, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of Paralegal experience and Paralegal Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach and manage assignments with a complete syllabus and course outcomes.
• Deliver well-prepared, organized lectures aligned with the syllabus.
• Foster critical thinking, analysis, communication, computation and problem solving.
• Provide timely feedback on quizzes, tests, homework, and projects.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
• Adhere to all college policies and procedures.
• Utilize Canvas, Starfish, email, MS Office and Internet in coursework.

Position Summary

Under general supervision of and in accordance with Clovis Community College and departmentally established practices and expectations, adjunct instructors work collaboratively with other faculty within the College and their discipline to ensure that key concepts of the specific discipline are addressed.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teaching assignments may vary depending on the specific qualifications and expertise of the individual.

• The Instructor will provide students with a complete syllabus containing course outcomes

• present well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus

• continually promote development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving, assessment, and decision-making

• provide students with timely information and feedback on academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework, and projects

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic performance

• Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all college policies.

• Use technology tools including, but not limited to, Canvas, Starfish, e-mail, MS Office, and the Internet.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires frequent and continuous sitting/moving about, continuous use of fine motor skills, and pushing and pulling of up to 20 lbs.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

Perform other duties as assigned.
