Job summary

La Salle University is seeking part-time Adjunct Instructors to teach French and Italian courses. Courses will be offered on campus primarily during the day.

These pooled positions are reviewed when a need arises; selected candidates will be contacted directly. Applicants should be prepared to develop syllabi, deliver lectures, and assess student learning while using Canvas and campus resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in French, Italian, Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Education, or related field.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
• PhD in French, Italian, Bilingual/Bicultural Studies, Education, or related field.
• Experience or training in teaching French or Italian.

Responsibilities

• Teach French and Italian courses on campus, primarily during the day.
• Prepare meaningful lectures and class activities for the full duration of the published class time for each class period according to academic calendar.
• Create a syllabus that meets the Provost’s Syllabus Checklist requirements.
• Create assessment activities that support the stated learning outcomes for the course.
• Address student questions in a timely and helpful manner.
• Use Canvas and other technology to enhance student learning.
• Attend faculty meetings.
• Submit grades and materials for assessment projects on or before stated deadlines.
• Communicate student concerns with personnel in the department.

Education
