Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.Maintain a safe, quality educational environment.Must demonstrate the ability to promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Four years of documented server administration professional employmentb. Documentation of research and publication in the field related to the topics in the coursec. Documented additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.SVAD 116 Course Standard:A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 116 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher-level Linux certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.SVAD 117 Course Standard:A qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 117 meets the Cloud Technologies program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher-level Linux certification, or two years of documented systems administration professional employment.SVAD 121 Course StandardA qualified faculty member teaching SVAD 121 meets the Cloud Technologies program standardOR Documentation of an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution with documentation in one or more of the following ways:a. Four years of documented server administration professional employmentb. Documentation of research and publication in the field related to topics in the coursec.
