Job summary

Lipscomb University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to support course coordination, mentoring, and student development. Attend orientation, review the student handbook, and meet with the course coordinator to determine clinical or laboratory needs, while modeling the Christian experience in life and learning.

The role requires a doctorate preferred or master's degree with proven higher education experience, and a collaborative leadership approach.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate preferred; Master's degree required.
  • Experience in higher education with critical thinking and judgement skills.
  • Demonstrates creative leadership practices and collaborative attitude.
  • Nursing license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend adjunct faculty orientation session
  • Review and be familiar with Student Handbook
  • Meet with course coordinator to determine clinical or laboratory and for individual mentoring
  • Model and communicate the Christian experience to students related to life and learning and demonstrate active membership in a Christian fellowship
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group instructional activities
  • Respond to student questions and concerns in a professional manner
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the education process
  • Apply sufficient, consistent rigor in grading students, giving substantive feedback and critical evaluation within one week of the due date for the assignment
  • Assist students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes
  • Maintain favorable course evaluations
  • Complete student evaluations and report grades to course coordinator
  • Schedule review of clinical instructor evaluations with course coordinator
