  • Ensure lab safety during sessions, preparation, and cleanup.

Salary: $3120/4 credit course

SUMMARY
  • Applicants submitting applications are applying for a non-tenure, part-time position but with significant input in course design. This appointment may be renewed upon satisfactory review and need.
  • Applications will be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs. The selected applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are interviewed and decisions to hire applicants are made at the discretion of the Department.
PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Teach lectures and laboratories for majors and non-majors chemistry courses.
  • Teach pertinent course content using lectures, demonstrations, class discussion, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery that promote educational and learning processes.
  • Prepare course outline and syllabus, develop course and lesson plans, and engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of courses
  • Engage and assist students by providing notes, timely grades, and feedback via a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Supervise and maintain laboratories and equipment.
  • Supervise lab safety during laboratory sessions, preparation, and clean-up.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Academic coursework in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or inorganic chemistry is preferred.
  • Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population of students both in and outside the classroom.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior college or university laboratory teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the university’s philosophy and mission.
