Job Description

As adjunct faculty, you will design, deliver, and assess courses in Anatomy and Physiology to facilitate student learning and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. Adjunct faculty work part‑time on a semester‑by‑semester basis and may teach up to five classes per academic year.

Essential Job Functions

• Teach Anatomy and Physiology courses at various times and locations.
• Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of material.
• Submit required college reports and forms promptly.
• Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following institutional guidelines.
• Meet with and advise students before or after class or by appointment via electronic communication or other appropriate methods.
• Evaluate students, measure their progress toward course objectives, and communicate progress in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.

Physical Abilities

• The work is primarily sedentary; occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, or driving may be required. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule and Conditions

• Work is performed in a climate‑controlled classroom or lab environment with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
• Typical equipment includes a PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
• Hours vary by class schedule; instructors must meet with classes at all scheduled times and be available outside of instruction.
• Students and colleagues may connect via electronic communication as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in theoretical or applied biology or life sciences, or equivalent graduate credit hours, or MD, DDS, DC, DVM with graduate‑level anatomy and/or physiology coursework evidenced by HAPS credentials.

Salary

$55.44 per contact hour.
