Job summary

The University of New Hampshire is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare staff at the Wellness Center in Durham. The role combines direct patient care, clinical support, and administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient service for a diverse student population.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, vital signs, immunizations, EMR data entry, scheduling, and adherence to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• One (1) year of medical/clinical assistant experience in a healthcare facility.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
• Must be BLS/CPR certified.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: EHR experience, proficient computer skills, ability to work with faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care tasks including check-in, vital signs, height/weight, medication reconciliation, allergy review, and past medical history documentation.
• Clinical Care support such as in-house point of care testing, immunizations, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other procedures with EMR data entry and patient education.
• Administration tasks like scheduling, registrations, document scanning, phone handling, and processing prior authorizations and payments.
• Quality Checks including maintaining clinical areas, stocking supplies, recording fridge temps, infection control, and QA checks on point of care testing.
