Adjunct Associate Faculty, Analytics for Business Operations Management (On-Campus, Fall '26)

Part‑time faculty position in the School of Professional Studies, Columbia University. The role involves teaching a graduate‑level course in Analytics for Business Operations Management.

The course teaches students how to apply analytical techniques to optimize operational decision‑making, improve efficiency, and solve real‑world challenges in operations management. Topics include process analysis, forecasting, queuing theory, simulation, optimization, inventory analysis, project management, supply chain management, and lean operations. The course integrates lectures and coding exercises to balance conceptual learning and practical application.

Responsibilities

• Attend all class sessions, assist with instruction, lead breakout sessions, and facilitate discussions.
• Lead class lectures, instructional activities, and classroom discussions.
• Evaluate, grade student work and assessments as requested by the course lecturer.
• Monitor and address student concerns and inquiries.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Operations Management, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in applied analytics, operations management, supply‑chain management, finance, marketing research, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of Operations Management concepts such as forecasting, queuing theory, optimization, and simulation.
• Proficiency in data analysis using Python and familiarity with tools such as Jupyter Notebook, NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
