Bronx Community College (CUNY) invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Engineering, Physics, and Technology at the Assistant Professor level. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in Physics and Astronomy. The Department seeks an innovative and dedicated educator who is committed to excellence in teaching and student engagement. The Department of Engineering, Physics, and Technology is actively involved in developing innovative associate degree curricula designed to prepare students for careers in emerging technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to this mission by supporting students. Responsibilities include teaching Physics and Astronomy courses, contributing to curriculum development, and maintaining a strong commitment to teaching excellence and academic advisement to students.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of expertise, or equivalent as noted below. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

Other Qualifications

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related field. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach effectively at the college level. A minimum of three years of college-level teaching experience is required. Experience working with diverse student populations and commitment to student success are highly desirable.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $120.83

Benefits

CUNY offers a comprehensive benefits package to employees and eligible dependents based on job title and classification. Employees are also offered pension and Tax-Deferred Savings Plans. Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
