Job Description
Basic Function:
- Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Anthropology courses up to 10 hours/week
- Organize and teach all levels of Anthropology classes
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, including distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester
- Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
Required Duties:
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s in Anthropology or Archaeology
- Bachelor’s in the above disciplines and Master’s in Sociology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genetics, or Paleontology
- Equivalent educational background
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching or working in a setting demonstrating the ability to teach Anthropology to community college students
