Job summary

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must possess a Master’s degree in History from a regionally accredited college or university or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 semester or 30 quarter graduate hours in History from an accredited college or university

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior teaching or training experience at the post‑secondary level;

Experience with Blackboard Learning LMS and MSOffice;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will be responsible for teaching on‑campus and/or online classes in History.

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom and online instruction; develops program curriculum, course outline, syllabi, goals, and objectives; prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction; evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests; prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.

Attends various professional development training; assists with orientations, recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts; the position may require committee and project assignments.

Other duties as assigned.

SALARY

This is a part‑time position without insurance benefits; work hours will not exceed 29 per week. Hourly rate is commensurate with education and work experience.

SPECIAL NOTES

It shall be a condition of employment to submit to a background investigation. Offers of employment shall be conditional pending the result of the background investigation.
