Job summary

The National Center for Defense Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Research Engineer for America Makes. You will join a diverse team to advance adaptive and additive manufacturing supply chains, lead or support technical projects, and communicate findings through manuscripts and presentations.

The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven analysis, and strategic stakeholder engagement to accelerate U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
3+ years of experience in additive or advanced manufacturing.
Experience managing technical projects.
Experience leading diverse teams.
Working knowledge of AM technologies and manufacturing processes.
Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder coordination.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

Facilitating meetings and workshops.
Documenting technical details, aggregating information, analyzing data, drawing conclusions.
Supporting or leading the drafting of manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
Public speaking – programmatic and technical information.
Maintaining awareness of program goals and manufacturing principles.
Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to track progress.
