Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring Mental Health Therapists/Substance Abuse Counselors for our Aurora, CO detox and residential facility. You will develop treatment plans and provide individual, group, family, and couples therapy to our clients in a compassionate, evidence-based setting.

This in-person role emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, documentation, crisis intervention, and continuity of care for clients seeking recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required and relevant licensure or certification in Colorado (LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, etc.).
• Strong clinical judgment, observation, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strict confidentiality are expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, family, and couples therapy.
• Manage clinical services and aftercare planning for assigned caseload.
• Prevent, intervene, and de-escalate during crisis situations.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of progress, risks, and interventions.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, multidisciplinary team, and families.
• Model recovery-centered ethics, accountability, dignity, and respect.

We are currently hiring Mental Health Therapists/Substance Abuse Counselors for our Detox and Residential treatment facility in Aurora, CO.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
• Active Colorado licensure or certification (LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, [CAC III,] ADDC, etc.)
• Strong clinical judgment, observation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
• Experience in substance use disorder, mental health, or co-occurring disorders preferred
