Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Aurora, CO, is hiring Mental Health Therapists/Substance Abuse Counselors for our detox and residential treatment facility. This is an in-person role within a collaborative, mission-driven clinical team focused on helping clients stabilize and engage in treatment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field required.
• Colorado licensure or certification in good standing preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication necessary.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Facilitate individual, group, family, and couples therapy.
• Manage clinical services and aftercare planning for assigned caseload.
• Prevent, intervene, and de-escalate during crisis situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of progress, risks, and interventions.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director and families.
• Model recovery-centered values including ethics, accountability, dignity, and respect.

Education

Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field

Colorado licensure or certification (LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, CAC III, ADDC)

Strong clinical judgment

We provide evidence-based, individualized care across the full continuum of services, including detox, residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient treatment. We are currently hiring Mental Health Therapists/Substance Abuse Counselors for our Detox and Residential treatment facility in Aurora, CO.

What You'll Do

• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
• Facilitate individual, group, family, and couples therapy
• Manage clinical services and aftercare planning for assigned caseloadPrevent, intervene, and de-escalate during crisis situations
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of progress, risks, and interventions
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, multidisciplinary treatment team, and families
• Model recovery-centered values including ethics, accountability, dignity, and respect

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field
• Active Colorado licensure or certification (LAC, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, CAS, [CAC III,] ADDC, etc.)
• Strong clinical judgment, observation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality
• Experience in substance use disorder, mental health, or co-occurring disorders preferred
