Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) in Jacksonville, NC, seeks an Addiction Clinician - LCAS to deliver evidence-based treatment for adults, adolescents, and children within our psychiatric program.

The role involves interviewing patients, conducting assessments, individual and group counseling, orientation for new admissions, and developing personalized treatment plans in compliance with Joint Commission standards. A Master’s degree and LCAS licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work or related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.
• LCAS licensure; compliance with state board requirements while pursuing independent licensure, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and carry out treatment and direct patient care for adults and/or adolescents for recovery from chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Experience and expertise in dual diagnosis, counseling in alcohol or drug abuse treatment, prevention or education programs (ex. 12-step programs) and substance abuse programs.

License / Certification:

LCAS licensure; Compliance with state board requirements for supervised practice while pursuing independent licensure, and a valid driver's license.

Physical requirements:

Medium Work – Exerting 20 – 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 – 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of these for light work. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
