Gaudenzia Crownsville is seeking an experienced Addictions Counselor to support individuals on their recovery journey in Crownsville, Maryland. You will work to empower clients toward lasting recovery and improved well-being within a mission-driven organization.

You will manage a caseload, perform evaluations, develop tailored treatment plans, document in the EHR, and lead individual and group sessions. The role requires Maryland licensure/certification and offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Maryland ADT certification through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists required at minimum.
  • CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LCPC, LCADC or LICSW/LCSW preferred depending on certification level.
  • Experience in the Human Services field and relevant counseling settings.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for a caseload of clients as defined by program requirements and regulations.
  • Complete required evaluations and assessments, including screening and biopsychosocial histories.
  • Develop individual treatment plans upon client admission.
  • Document all clinical services in the electronic health record and monthly reports.
  • Maintain accurate EHRs and complete tasks within established timeframes.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions aligned with treatment goals.
  • Coordinate with funding sources to inform treatment length and continuation.
  • Follow up with clients after discharge per regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Maryland Education/ Licensure Requirements:
    All counseling candidates must have, at minimum, an Alcohol and Drug Trainee certification (ADT) through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists. CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LGPC, LCPC, LCADC or LICSW/LCSW preferred. Compensation based on current level of certification/licensure and years of experience. All experience must have been performed in the Human Services field.

Acceptable degrees include (but are not limited to): Social Work, Psychology, Addiction, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, and more.

Compensation Range: $55,000 - 72,000 based upon education, credentials & experience!

Work Schedule: Flexible start and end times with either an 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm schedule Monday through Friday with some flexibility for weekends and or Holiday. Counselors may be asked to adjust their hours one day per week to accommodate evening sessions (possibly an 11am-7pm or 12-8pm shift)

Your responsibilities in this role may include:

  • Be responsible for a caseload of clients, as identified by program requirements and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete required evaluations and assessments, including screening, intake, clinical assessments, ASAM and biopsychosocial histories.
  • Compete individual treatment plans upon client's admission.
  • Document all clinical services and interventions performed within the client's electronic health record and complete monthly treatment reports.
  • Maintain accurate electronic health records on each client and ensure the timely completion of tasks, within 24 hours of service deliver, no later than 72 hours of service delivery.
  • Conduct individual and group sessions based on client's treatment plan goals and level of care.
  • Participating in funding source reviews and make recommendations for treatment and lengths of stay.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Coordinate with agency and community resources to ensure a through treatment plan.
  • Assist clients with developing a discharge/continuing care plan and connecting to resources needed to reach personal goals both during the course of treatment and in advance to their discharge.
  • Follow up with clients after discharge based on regulatory guidelines until they have been established with other case management/social services.
