Job summary

Cascadia Health is hiring an Addiction and Recovery Counselor II to provide individualized addiction services in a SE Portland outpatient clinic. You will work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team applying trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to support clients on their recovery journey.

The role emphasizes assessments, personalized service plans, and facilitating therapy sessions with a focus on harm reduction and Motivational Interviewing.

Qualifications

  • CADC I or CADC II certification is required.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery models is essential.
  • Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing and evidence-based practices.
  • Ability to operate computer systems and prep simple reports.

  • Conduct addiction assessments to understand client needs.

In this essential role, you will provide individualized addiction services and support to clients on their recovery journey, using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting health and recovery.Essential ResponsibilitiesThis position description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, or working conditions associated with the position. Management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties as necessaryGeneralConducting thorough Addiction Assessments to understand client needs.Integrating best practices such as Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing into your daily work.Developing and implementing personalized service plans for clients.Coaching clients in setting and achieving their own goals.Evaluating and adjusting treatment plans to ensure their effectiveness.Facilitating both group and individual therapy sessions, relapse prevention plans, and family/support person sessions.Collaborating with internal and external resources to provide the best possible care.Assisting in crisis situations and supporting a Trauma Informed Care Environment.QualificationsEducation:Required:Addiction and Recovery Counselor II: CADCI, or CADCII.Knowledge of culturally specific servicesKnowledge of Trauma Informed CareKnowledge of Motivational Interviewing and evidence based practicesUnderstanding of Recovery ModelOperate computer programs and systems at a level needed to perform the essential dutiesBe able to prepare simple reportsPreferred:Experience with clients involved in the Child Welfare System, gender-specific populations, and the criminal justice system.Knowledge of strength-based case management, trauma-informed services, and recovery models.Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Familiarity with DBT and Seeking Safety curriculum for men and women.Working ConditionsOutpatient clinic setting serving a diverse population with addiction issues.Dynamic and sometimes hectic work environment with potential interruptions.Universal Precautions and alertness to potential hazards are essential.Flexibility in handling unpredictable tasks and maintaining safety in potentially volatile situations.Cascadia is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
