Sunshine Behavioral Health Group invites applications for an Addiction Counselor in Bastrop, TX. The role encompasses assessing and monitoring client behavior, collaborating with clinical leadership, and delivering case management, group therapy, crisis response, planning discharge, and maintaining EMR documentation.

You will work with a treatment team to develop AOD plans, facilitate therapy, and coordinate referrals.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in chemical and alcohol dependency and abuse.
• Experience or education in crisis management.
• Ability to use motivational interviewing to reinforce client’s power to make change.
• Knowledge of HIPAA.
• Experience from assessment to discharge planning in care.
• Team and independent work with strong communication and boundaries.
• Sensitivity to religious, ethnic, and cultural differences.
• Knowledge of CBT, DBT, 12-step recovery or similar approaches.
• State-appropriate license required.

Responsabilités

• Develop and review AOD treatment plans with clients and families.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions; document in EMR.
• Provide referrals and resources to support recovery; collaborate with therapist.
• Develop discharge planning with clients and families.
• Record health information in EMR and maintain timely documentation.
• Support case management (FMLA/STD) and submit through proper channel.
• Participate in care team consultations and trainings.
• Respond to emergencies and take appropriate action.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
