ADAPTIVE PLANNING CONSULTANT

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is a mission-driven healthcare technology organization that is seeking an Adaptive Planning Consultant to optimize and streamline their current Adaptive Planning instance. Initially built with the assumption of scaling to a large enterprise business, the current setup is overly complex for their actual scale.

This is a hands-on consulting role that will require full-time support during the early stages, with ongoing part-time support thereafter.

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Adaptive Planning professional who can redesign and simplify their integration processes, support model rebuilds, assist with a fiscal year-end change, and advise on overall system optimization. The successful candidate will bring strong technical Adaptive Planning expertise, experience with financial system integrations (especially NetSuite), and a consultative approach to driving transformation in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess and unwind the current overbuilt Adaptive Planning instance to align with Client's current scale and business needs.
  • Redesign and streamline integrations, particularly with NetSuite, which currently runs three times per day and includes massive data sets from thousands of 1099 vendors.
  • Optimize and reduce integration runtimes (currently ~1.5 hours) by removing unnecessary data pulls and simplifying tables.
  • Support change of fiscal year-end from calendar year to January 31st, including related configuration and model adjustments within Adaptive.
  • Rebuild and clean up financial planning models with a focus on improving usability, accuracy, and forecasting efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend which components of the company’s cash model should be transitioned into Adaptive Planning.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for maintaining a scalable, lean Adaptive environment.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, accounting, and systems teams to ensure alignment and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Transition support model from full-time consulting during the discovery and execution phase to part-time ongoing support as system improvements are implemented.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in FP&A or financial systems, with at least 3 years hands-on with Adaptive Planning.
  • Proven success redesigning and simplifying Adaptive Planning environments, especially for mid-market companies.
  • Strong understanding of financial system integrations, particularly Adaptive to NetSuite.
  • Experience handling large data sets and managing integrations involving high volumes of 1099 contractors/vendors.
  • Ability to manage system changes associated with fiscal year-end adjustments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in a consulting capacity highly preferred.
