Job summary

Urbana School District 116 seeks a Building-Based Substitute Teacher at Leal Elementary to cover daily classroom needs across all grades and subjects. You will implement lesson plans and support student learning in the absence of a full-time teacher.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and a valid Illinois Substitute or Professional Educator License. The role is non-long-term and operates Monday–Friday during school hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Illinois Substitute License or Professional Educator License.

Responsibilities

• Implements existing lesson plans and maximizes student engagement.
• Maintains accurate attendance records and monitors student behavior.
• Leaves notes for the full-time teacher and returns materials to proper places.
• Participates in staff meetings and collaborates with colleagues to support student success.
• Adheres to district policies, PBIS and Restorative Practices.
