Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority ( WMATA ) is seeking an ADA Projects Architect/Engineer to lead accessibility compliance across capital programs, coordinating with architects, engineers, planners, and customers with disabilities to embed universal design throughout projects.

The role emphasizes innovative accessibility solutions, collaboration with Metro offices and external agencies, and a strong emphasis on customer experience and system-wide accessibility improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Seven (7) years of extensive experience in ADA Compliance including ADA Standards for Accessibility, developing documents that are Section 508 compliant and marking up architectural and engineering drawings.
• Must include reading architectural and engineering construction and equipment drawings fluently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ADA compliance projects from concept to final delivery within the Office of ADA Policy and Planning.
• Perform site visits and coordinate with teams to develop solutions improving ADA accessibility.
• Advocate for Metro's ADA needs in planning activities and coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies.
