Job summary

Mercy Hospital Ada is seeking a registered nurse for the Med Surg 3N unit on a full-time night shift from 7pm to 7am. The RN will utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care, coordinate with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited RN program with an active RN license in the state or compact, and will complete required certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS) within the required time frames.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program (ADN/BSN/Diploma).
• Current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Complete hospital nursing competencies and required in-services within stated time frames (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains accountability for the care provided to assigned patients.
• Evaluates care effectiveness provided by other direct care givers.

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program. (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Completes Hospital and required nursing competencies, mandatory in-services/MyEducation assignments and relevant certifications (ex. BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.) within required time frame.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
