Job summary

Mercy Hospital Ada seeks a Patient Care Associate (PCA) or Nurse Tech for the Med Surg unit. The role involves assisting in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN, and collaborating within a team to achieve wellness goals.

Full-time position with day shift from 7am to 7pm. Education requirements include high school diploma/GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare career program; BLS within one month of hire and PCA competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC or enroled in a healthcare program.
• Experience: None required.
• Certifications: BLS within 1 month; PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.

Full Time - Three 12-hour shifts per week

Day Shift - 7am to 7pm

Patient Care Associate - PCA Requirements:

Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.

Experience: None required.

Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.

Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: EMT, Paramedic or Previous Patient Care Experience

Certification(s): Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Tech (CPCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) in the state of practice.
