We are seeking a detail-oriented ADA Compliance Tester to ensure our digital assets, websites, and applications meet the standards set forth by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ideal candidate will assess accessibility features, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with development teams to enhance overall accessibility for users with disabilities.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $80K - $85K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive audits of websites, mobile apps, and digital content to evaluate ADA compliance.
• Utilize assistive technologies (such as screen readers, magnifiers, and keyboard navigation tools) to simulate user experiences for individuals with disabilities.
• Identify accessibility issues related to color contrast, font size, navigation, alt text, ARIA labels, and more.
• Document findings clearly with detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Work closely with developers, designers to implement accessibility improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest ADA standards, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and related legal requirements.
• Perform re-testing once issues are addressed to ensure compliance.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in web accessibility testing and ADA compliance.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Axe, WAVE).
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
• Degree in Computer Science or Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, Accessibility, or related field is preferred.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with automated and manual accessibility testing methods.
• Certification such as Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) or Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) is a plus.
