Job summary

HMG America LLC is seeking a Data & Application Architect to lead architecture for an Ad Tech platform modernization. You will drive design across operational databases, OLTP workloads, data modeling, and AWS data services to support analytics.

The role requires 15+ years in data or application architecture, deep experience with Oracle, Teradata and SQL Server, and concrete AWS expertise (Redshift, Kinesis, Glue, Lake Formation).

Qualifications

• 15+ years in Data Architecture, Application Architecture, or Database Architecture.
• Strong OLTP / application database architecture experience.
• Expertise with Oracle, Teradata, and/or SQL Server.
• Minimum 3+ years AWS experience.
• Strong experience with Aurora, DynamoDB, Kinesis, MSK/Kafka, Glue, EMR, Redshift, S3, Lake Formation, and Athena.
• Strong data modeling: 3NF, Star/Snowflake, SCD, Fact/Dimension.
• Experience with CDC, streaming, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Apache Iceberg / Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong architecture documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern operational databases for microservices and high-throughput OLTP.
• Design transactional schemas, indexing, concurrency, and performance strategies.
• Architect CDC and event-driven data flows to analytics.
• Develop 3NF, Star/Snowflake, and SCD data models.
• Design modern warehouse/lakehouse architectures on AWS and Iceberg.
• Define batch and real-time data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration.
• Perform current-state assessments, profiling, and modernization planning.
• Establish data governance for lineage, cataloging, access, and PII.
• Design integration between legacy platforms and modern microservices.
