Job summary

LCMC Health seeks a Med-Surg registered nurse to join the team at University Medical Center in New Orleans. You will lead care coordination, prioritize patient needs, and work with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care on the floor.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead prioritization, coordination, and delegation of care touchpoints for patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Monitor patients and respond to concerns from patients and care team.
• Prevent and treat wounds and ensure infection control standards.
• Ensure continuity of care and effective throughput with clear communication.
• Consult with supervisor when tasks cannot be completed promptly or safely.
• Educate patients and families using appropriate resources across continuum of care.
