Job description

Position Summary

The Speech Pathologist will provide clinical services and communicate with patients, families, and other professionals/service providers in the medical community. The role requires participation in a weekend rotation schedule, weekday availability for sick call and PTO coverage, and cross‑covering both Auburn and Covington Medical Centers. Training occurs at both sites during the first month or two. Per diem staff are expected to work a minimum of one holiday per year and complete mandatory education/training during non‑shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, interpretation, and reporting of clinical observations.
• Perform patient assessments with physicians and develop treatment plans.
• Perform and interpret results of Videofluoroscopy swallow studies and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.
• Confer with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in weekend rotation schedule, and provide weekday sick‑call and PTO coverage.
• Cross‑cover both Auburn and Covington Medical Centers and complete required training.
• Work a minimum of one holiday per year and complete mandatory education/training during non‑shift hours.

Requirements

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Hearing‑Language Association, OR be in the process of completing a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) under supervision of a CCC‑SLP in accordance with ASHA standards.
• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Washington, or holding an interim permit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Previous experience as a Speech Language Pathologist preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

The pay scale for this position is $48.58 - $76.37 USD. Pay is influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and certifications. The position may be associated with a union contract and will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale corresponding to the applicant’s years of experience.
