Job summary

West Penn Hospital, part of the Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Acute Rehab Unit. The unit cares for stroke, spinal cord, LVAD, TBI and burn patients, with up to 3 hours of therapy daily.

The RN provides leadership, collaborates with the inter-disciplinary team, ensures safety and quality, and mentors colleagues. This role requires current PA RN licensure, CPR certification, and adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• Preferred certification in area of specialty.
• Background clearances (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73) and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and plan patient care.
• Assigns tasks to staff based on patient needs and competency.
• Maintains a safe environment and adheres to standards of care.
• Delivers patient-centered care, with emphasis on communication and documentation.
• Supports continuous learning and quality improvement initiatives.
