This Acute Pharmacy Technician supports medication packaging, distribution, compounding, and record-keeping under pharmacist supervision. Supports customers, maintains a compliant cleanroom, and assists with staff training while providing safe, age-appropriate care. This position follows a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. During Week 1, scheduled shifts are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. During Week 2, scheduled shifts are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. This rotation provides a consistent schedule while supporting operational staffing needs. This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Becomes proficient in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP regulations. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. Consistently demonstrates an ability to assess a situation, consider alternatives, and choose the appropriate course of action. May educate and train peer Pharmacy Technicians, Technician Externs, Technician Trainees, and volunteers. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients.

IP - Typical Indirect Patient Care Environment: (CSPD Instrument Technician, Lab Technician, Pharmacist) Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. May be required to lift up to 75 pounds. Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and body fluids. Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone. May require periodic to frequent use of personal computer. Off‑site travel may be required. May be required to possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy.
